The Salvation Army and News/Talk 760 WJR are hosting their 29th annual Bed & Bread Club Radiothon on Friday.
Bed & Bread Club Chairman and retired Detroit radio Hall of Famer Dick Purtan will help with the radiothon which will run from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The 16-hour broadcast will be live from Emagine Theatres in Royal Oak.
The annual Bed & Bread Club Radiothon is the primary source of support for The Salvation Army's Bed & Bread program. All of the funds raised go directly to help feed and shelter metro Detroiters in need.
Detroiters can double their donations before the radiothon with a $30,000 matching gift from Purtan and his wife, Gail, by texting "PURTAN" to 41444.
A $120 donation will help feed an entire person for a year. You can also donate by visiting www.salmich.org.
