AAA Michigan: Statewide gas prices decline 10 cents

Gas prices in Michigan slipped 10 cents compared to a week ago, AAA Michigan reports. Drivers are now paying an average of $2.82 per gallon for regular unleaded.

Motorists are paying an average of $42 for a full 15-gallon tank of gasoline; a discount of $5 from when prices were their highest last May.

Compared to last week, metro Detroit's average daily gas price decreased. The current average is $2.83 per gallon, about 6 cents less than last week's average and 3 cents less than this time last year.

The most expensive gas price averages were found in Marquette ($2.90), Ann Arbor ($2.86) and Benton Harbor ($2.85.) The least expensive were found in Flint ($2.75), Grand Rapids ($2.75) and Lansing ($2.76.)
