Police say a motorcycle and a go-kart were racing when the go-kart turned in front of the motorcycle causing the accident.
This happened on French Road at Almont on the city's east side.
The go-kart driver, 21, was pronounced dead on the scene.
At last check, the motorcyclist, 30, was hospitalized in serious condition.
