We always love to hear from the team at Jalopnik. They bring a different take on auto news. This year, on the first day of the North American International Auto Show, we talked to editor in chief Patrick George about his biggest headlines of the show - and about the news that singer David Bowie has died.

"I was heartbroken," George said of the morning's news of Bowie's death. "In 1999 he made a Mini Cooper that was completely mirrored out," he remembered aloud with us.

Patrick George said he feels luxury vehicles will be a focus of this year's Detroit auto show. He spoke with 7 Action News anchor Stephen Clark about Hyundai's new Geneisis luxury brand.

"That's what's selling right now," he said. "Crossovers and luxury vehicles, so expect the automakers to focus heavily on that, this year."
