Beef, sausage snack sticks recalled for possible foreign matter contamination

Klement's Sausage Company has recalled beef and sausage snacks due to a possible foreign matter contamination.

According to the United States Department of Agriculture, the snacks may be contaminated with "extraneous materials."

The recall includes 1-ounce packages containing two pieces of "Klement's Original Snack Sticks Naturally Hardwood Smoked No MSG Added Gluten Free" with a sell-by date of 11-16-17 and case code of 3262.

The products were shipped to Michigan, Iowa and Wisconsin. It was discovered on Oct. 6 when a complaint was filed in Iowa.

The USDA's Food Safety and Inspector's Service investigated and found several pieces of foreign matter ranging in size from 1mm to 4.8mm in unopened packages.

There has been one complaint o an oral injury.
