Stationary engineer and HVAC tech apprenticeships available

and last updated

There’s a rare opportunity to score a paid apprenticeship and become either an HVAC Technician or a Stationary Engineer; which is essentially an HVAC Tech on an industrial level!

Applications will be available Friday, February 16, 2017 between 9am and 1pm and once again between 3pm and 7pm at the Local 324 Stationary Engineer Education Center.

Both HVAC Technicians and Stationary Engineers are in high demand and there's expected to be a shortage in both professions as people retire. These are well paying union jobs and an apprenticeship is the first step toward a new career.

To qualify you need to be at least 18, with a high school diploma or GED, a US citizen or a legal immigrant living within the state of Michigan. You'll also need a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

There's also a written aptitude test, a pre-employment physical and drug test.

If you clear all the hurtles, you'll be placed with a contractor for on the job training and you'll also receive formal classroom training.

Time is of the essence with this opportunity because only 300 applications will be offered.

Applications will be available February 17, between 9am and 1pm and again between 3pm and 7pm at the Local 324 Stationary Engineer Education Center, 1550 Howard St Detroit.
