(WXYZ) — A 15-year-old boy has been charged as an adult designated juvenile in connection with the fatal shooting of a 20-year-old Detroit man.
Demar Keyan Pernell is accused of fatally shooting Winston Davis Williams.
Upon conviction, the adult designation allows the judge to sentence the defendant as a juvenile, or an adult, or to fashion a blended juvenile and adult sentence.
According to prosecutors, on April 16, Detroit police were dispatched to a fatal shooting in the area of Plymouth Road and Asbury Park. Upon arrival, the officers discovered the victim lying in the alley, unresponsive.The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Pernell allegedly tried to rob Pernell during a gun sale, prosecutors say.
Pernell has been charged with First Degree Murder Felony Murder, Armed Robbery and Felony Firearm
