A 4-year-old was mauled by her mother's pit bull on Detroit's east side. Now, family is saying there are other questions about the child's living conditions.
"She asked me the question, did I feel comfortable with my daughter living in the household," said Kaymia's father, George Green, of the child's mother. "I told her no. Flat out, no."
The father said that there have been several occasions that have brought him concern dating back to 2015.
He added that those red flags were ignored.
The mother, Vesta Haskins, says there was no potential for violence between her dog and her child.
"Because my baby and the dog had been around each other since she was little, so I didn't think that that would happen," Haskins said.
The child spent four nights in the hospital and had at least 20 stitches.
