A 59-year-old Pontiac man suffered injuries when the trailer he was staying in was partly crushed by a demolition company.

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office says the company was hired by the city to demolish abandoned homes. The home on the 80 block of N. Sanford street was taken down and workers had returned to get rid of the remaining structures on the property.

Deputies say the man who was injured was asked repeatedly to stay away from the property.

The company started to crush the trailer when project workers heard screaming from the rubble, according to the sheriff's office.

The man was rushed to the hospital and treated. He sustained broken bones and a deep head wound.
