On Monday, May 23, the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund are teaming up with Major League Baseball and the Detroit Tigers to host the Fifth annual Law Enforcement Appreciation Night during the Tigers vs. Philadelphia Phillies game at Comerica Park.

The event is dedicated to honoring the service and sacrifice of the officers and their families. In addition to thanking the officers, the organizations hope to raise awareness and funds for the forthcoming National Law Enforcement Museum that is currently under construction in Washington D.C.

The pregame activities will include a display of police cars and a special helicopter flyover which will feature the Michigan State Police and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Blackhawk Helicopter.

The game’s opening ceremony will be dedicated to honor Detroit Police Sergeant Joseph Abdella, Michigan State Trooper Chad Wolf and Michigan Department of Natural Resources First Lieutenant Arthur Green III.
