1. Pumpkinfest 2019

Established 1984, the South Lyon Pumpkinfest is a beloved community event. Festival activities include a craft show, pie-eating contests, inflatables and a Biergarten.

Date and time: 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27 to Sunday, Sept. 29
Location: Downtown South Lyon

2. Light Up Livernois

This event celebrates design and creativity on the historic Avenue of Fashion. Experiences include open studios, fashion vignettes, musical performances and small business highlights.

Date and time: Saturday, Sept. 28 from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Location: Teasers Boutique, 19355 Livernois Ave., Detroit

3. "Ofrendas: Celebrating el Día de Muertos" at the Detroit Institute of Arts

The Detroit Institute of Arts, in collaboration with the Mexican Consulate of Detroit, will display 16 ofrenda altars, or offerings, created by local artists. The exhibition is free with museum admission, which is always free for residents of Macomb, Oakland and Wayne counties. Día de Muertos, a tradition in Mexican and Mexican American communities, honors the life and memory of lost loved ones.

4. Cider in the City

Beacon Park will kick off its first Cider in the City event this fall! Held every Saturday, you can get your cider, donuts, apples and pumpkins. There are also free hayrides, lawn games, food trucks and inflatables.

Date and time: Saturday, Sept. 28 at 1 p.m. This event will run until Oct. 26.

5. Smoke on the River festival

Cigar aficionados and music lovers can have a great time at Detroit's first-ever cigar festival. It will feature top cigar brands, cocktails, spirits, food and live music. Tickets range from $75 to $225.

Date and time: Saturday, Sept. 28 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.

6. Model T Birthday Celebration

Celebrate the birthday of the Model T at the Ford Piquette Avenue Plant! There is free admission for the event, which will feature a car show, Model T rides, entertainment, children's activities and treats. Vintage and period clothing is encouraged but not required.

Date and time: Sunday, Sept. 29 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Location: 461 Piquette St., Detroit

7. Taste of Clarkston 2019

This one-day event features over 50 restaurants and exhibitors. It attracts over 18,000 people from all over Oakland County and covers both sides of Main Street.
