WARREN, Mich. (WXYZ) — A natural gas line in Warren was damaged Sunday, causing the closure of Nine Mile Road from Groesbeck to Hoover.

According to Warren Police Commissioner Bill Dwyer, a fiber optic gas line was hit when a construction crew was doing drilling. Consumers Energy is heading to the scene to complete repairs.

The area will be closed for a couple of hours.

Warren Mayor Jim Fouts said in a Facebook post that the company that damaged the line is not employed by the city.
