An overnight theft at Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries was caught on surveillance.
We're told more than $90,000 in training equipment hauled away around 2 a.m. The agency says lawn mowers, trimmers, edgers, were taken, also an 18-foot trailer marked DRMM.
But the CEO now tells action news he's angry at investigators. He claims he was told it would take 3-4 days before someone was assigned to the case. The thieves broke through the gate using a sledgehammer, and then another guy drove a U-Haul inside.
Detroit Police say this was just a big misunderstanding, telling 7 Action News an operator gave them bad information. A detective has already been assigned to the case, and will have picked up the surveillance video by the end of the night.
DRMM's CEO says he just wants the stuff back, used for a training program for veterans and the homeless to become landscapers. He says he will not press charges.
