HARPER WOODS, Mich. (WXYZ) — All lanes of I-94 at 8 Mile in Harper Woods are now open after a crash involving a street sweeper.
According to a series of tweets from Michigan State Police, a street sweeper was attempting to pass a semi truck on westbound I-94 and subsequently struck the rear tire of the semi.
The driver of the street sweeper lost control and crashed into the median wall. The impact sent cement into all lanes of eastbound traffic, striking numerous vehicles. The driver of the street sweeper was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police say there were no other injuries.
