An Amber Alert has been issued for a missing baby girl last seen August 4 in Grand Rapids.

Jaionna is about 30-inches, 25 pounds and last seen wearing a pink shirt, blue shorts, clear sandals with purple flowers on them. Her hair is in five to six pony tails with black rubber bands.

Police believe 1-year-old Jaionna Ross may be with a 27-year-old man called "Terrell."

Jaionna was with her mother, Jennell Ross, at a gas station Saturday near 44th Street and Kalamazoo Avenue. Jennell exited her vehicle to enter the store, when the passenger "Terrell" drove off in the car, officers say.

Police found the car a short distance away, but it was empty and the car seat was found inside the vehicle.

The 1-year-old's mother told police she met "Terrell" about four weeks ago, and they developed a relationship. The mother claims she does not know his full name, phone number, where he lives or works.

She met "Terrell" at a park Saturday night, police say.

He is described as 5-feet 8-inches, with a medium build and muscular upper body. He has braids, chin facial hair and a missing tooth on his upper left side noticeable when he smiles. "Terrell" was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, black jeans and black or gray tennis shoes.

Anyone with information on Jaionna or "Terrell's" whereabouts should contact Grand Rapids Police at (616) 456-3400.
