It’s National Adoption Month and we’re highlighting some of the incredible foster youth in their search for a family.
Cordell has been searching for loving parents for more than four years, and he may fit just perfectly into your family.
“I would like a family because I like to enjoy the outdoors and like to spend time with my family,” he said.
Cordell has an adventurous spirit and loves the outdoors.
“Go fishing during the summer and during the winter,” he said.
But Cordell is soft spoken and has a gentle spirit, he just turned 16 and while most 16-year-olds are learning to drive and want a car all he wants is a mom or dad.
“It’s kind of like sad, depressed and stuff like that,” he said.
Cordell says holidays and birthdays are the toughest without anyone to celebrate with, so the folks at Adventure Park in West Bloomfield gave him the VIP treatment.
“I’m smart, all A’s and I like to tell jokes,” Cordell said.
It’s experiences like Adventure Park he rarely gets being in the Michigan Foster System. The staff at the park were so touched when they saw how much joy Cordell found in climbing the tree, they gave him an unlimited season pass.
Cordell wants to be an archeologist when he grows up or do something involving technology.
His easy going, go-with-the-flow attitude would make him a great fit into any family with siblings young and old. Cordell says he likes to help whether it’s cooking or doing chores and he’s spent four years dreaming of having a family, people to love and give his very best to.
“I like to have manners so people will treat me the way I want to be treated,” he said.
