Attorney General Bill Schuette has re-filed a felony charge against ex-lawmaker Todd Courser.
This time the charge has been filed in Lapeer County.
Previous charges filed by the attorney general had been dismissed earlier this year.
Courser is being charged under common law with soliciting a state employee to cover up an extra-marital affair.
He faces up to 5 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
Courser and Cindy Gamrat were involved in a sex scandal last year that cost them their jobs.
