People who are interested in a career in the technology and automotive fields will have a chance to connect with a number of companies during the 2018 AutoMobili-D showcase at the North American International Auto Show.

NAIAS officials say more than 180 brands participated in AutoMobili-D earlier this year with the 120,000 square ft. space showing off a variety of automakers, suppliers and startups.

The Michigan Economic Development Corporation recently announced the showcase will remain open through the first weekend of the public show in 2018 for a special career event, according to a news release. The Future Automotive Career Exposition is a collaboration between the NAIAS and the MEDC.

“We are continually looking for ways to connect with more people, put a face behind our exciting industry and make NAIAS bigger and better each year,” said Ryan LaFontaine, 2018 NAIAS chairman, in a press release. “With over 200,000 attendees on the first weekend of Public Show, we saw a real opportunity to collaborate with MEDC and connect job-seekers directly with innovative companies eager to address their respective talent shortages.”

Additional details on AutoMobili-D's Future Automotive Career Exposition are expected to be released closer to the start of the North American International Auto Show.

Public days for the 2018 NAIAS will start on January 20.
