SCIO TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) — A barn at White Lotus Farms in Scio Township is a near total loss after a large fire destroyed the building Monday afternoon, officials say.
Scio Township firefighters responded to a call about smoke and flames at a barn on West Liberty. When they arrived, they saw smoke and flames coming from a three-story barn that had been converted to a residence and workshop.
There was one resident who was inside the barn at the time of the fire. He was alerted of the blaze and was able to gather his three cats and get to safety.
There were no injuries.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
