Runners, meet your worst nightmare.

Puma recently released video of theirBeatBot--a gadget that challenges runners to perform at their best.

Like a competitor, the robot gives runners a visual representation of the times they’re trying to beat.

In the promotional video posted to YouTube, Puma says the BeatBot is programmable. Runners just have to enter the distance they want to run and the time they’re looking to break using a mobile app.

BeatBot then helps them keep pace.

The company says in the video infrared sensors guide the gadget to hug the line on the track. The robot reportedly counts the revolutions of the wheels to figure out speed and distance. It also comes equipped with a front facing camera and accelerometer.

A company press release notes the bot is currently exclusive to their athletes, and "PUMA plans to roll out BeatBot over the year to various athletic programs around the world."
