It's a store that's all about being good for the body, environment and community.
Bee Organic is opening its first store in Oxford and they're employing autistic adults.
Owner Amanda Piszczek explained, "I wasn't organic at all until I got pregnant with my first daughter and my friend was the one who cued me in on, 'Hey these products you are using are really toxic.'"
That's when Piszczek did some research to create a formula of body products for herself.
"And then my friends started using it when they got pregnant and my family started using it. Everybody was telling me how much they loved it."
That idea blossomed into a store with items that mainly use beeswax or honey.
"The benefits are really endless. It's anti-microbial, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, helps with cuts, scrapes, anything. It's also great for your skin," Piszczek explained.
It all started with a lotion called bee soft baby butter and now they've expanded to more than 40 products.
"We are in all Whole Foods stores in Michigan."
Piszczek doesn't use any plastics and bottles her products in glass jars or recycled paper.
But that wasn't enough, she wanted to do something that could impact the local community.
She turned to Extraordinary Ventures, a group that finds work for autistic adults, to hire workers to label Bee Organic products.
"They do a great job," Piszczek added. "We couldn't be happier with it and I feel good that I'm helping out the community."
And that's what they believe will make a difference.
