UPDATE: The all-clear was given at the high school just before 2 p.m. on Thursday.

Some students at Bloomfield Hills High School have evacuated and others are locked down inside the school after the school's emergency alert system was triggered.

According to the district, the BluePoint system, the emergency alert system, was activated on Thursday afternoon.

The school follows a run, hide, fight method, so some students evacuated the building and others locked down.

At 12:21 p.m., the district said it appeared to be a false alarm but police were still sweeping the building.

Students who evacuated went to the LA Fitness nearby or boarded buses that took them to the faculty/student parking lot.

Those students will eventually be taken to the Bloomfield Township Library, which is the reunification site. Families should make their way to the library to pick up their children.

Police are sweeping the building and evacuating students one room at a time.

Chopper 7 is over the scene and saw more than a dozen police cars at the school. It also showed students boarding buses.

Around 1:45 p.m., video did show people going back inside the school.

According to the company, a BluePoint Alert system is a station and mobile device similar to a fire alarm where someone can pull it or push it, the same as a pulling a fire alarm, which will trigger that notification.
