Firefighters responded to a call of a burning car at about 2:30 pm, near the corner of Seneca and Lambert on Detroit's east side.
Crews arrived and extinguished the flames.
They then discovered two bodies in the backseat, burned beyond recognition.
Police say they cannot determine the age or gender of the victims from the remains.
