A Pennsylvania congressman is set to introduce legislation to improve the FDA process for approving medical devices.

It comes after our series of reports on Essure, a contraceptive implant blamed for severe health problems in more than 25,000 women.

Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick will introduce a package of bills aimed at strengthening the FDA's review process of devices like Essure and increasing the accountability by manufacturers for dangerous devices.

7 Action News will provide complete coverage of  the announcement today.
