Neighbors are feeling a sense of relief and hope tonight after a vacant home owned by a mega church was torn down.

On Woodward Avenue near 7 Mile, construction continues on the new Perfecting Church. A few blocks away, neighbors are celebrating what is getting torn down.

For seven years, William Walker has lived next door to the vacant house on Blake Street. In that time, he's had a lot of sleepless nights. "It was a hazard. I was scared people would catch it on fire," Walker told Action News.
