David Letterman returning to television for special Netflix series

Posted

More than two years after David Letterman left our televisions as host of The Late Show, he's making a triumphant return for a special show on Netflix.

Letterman, who is the longest-serving host in late night television, will host a six-episode series that has yet to be named.

According to Netflix, it will feature in-depth conversations with extraordinary people, and in-the-field segments that will highlight his curiosity and humor.

"I feel excited and lucky to be working on this project for Netflix," Letterman said in a release. "Here's what I have learned, if you retire to spend more time with your family, check with your family first. Thanks for watching, drive safely.”

The show will be produced by RadicalMedia, which is also behind Netflix's "What Happened, Miss Simone?" "Oh Hello on Broadway and Abstract: The Art of Design" and Letterman's Worldwide Pants.
