Eastbound I-94 is back open at Chene St. after a deadly crash earlier this morning.

According to MDOT, all lanes but the right lane are open.

You should expect heavy delays for the rest of the morning commute, and an alternate route is advised.

That alternate route is: Southbound I-75 to eastbound Mack to northbound Mt. Elliott then back to eastbound I-94.

6:05 a.m.

MDOT says they have closed the northbound and southbound I-75 ramps to eastbound I-94 to prevent people from heading toward a deadly crash that has eastbound I-94 closed at Chene St.

To get around the crash, you're advised to take southbound I-75 to eastbound Mack to northbound Mt. Elliott then back to eastbound I-94.

It's not clear what caused the crash or if anyone else was injured.
