A Dearborn Heights police pursuit ended in a deadly crash this morning in Inkster.
Police say the chase started around 5 a.m. before the driver of the Chevy Cobalt they were pursuing crashed into a tree.
Sources say a female passenger in the car was killed and that crews were tending to the male driver.
We're told the Cobalt slammed into a tree after officers tried to make a traffic stop a few blocks away.
One Inkster resident who lives near the site of the crash, said she disagrees with the decision to begin or continue a chase through a residential neighborhood.
The driver, who is in critical condition, was borrowing the car from a friend. Police have still not interviewed him while he remains in the hospital.
