Waterford Township police say a barricaded gunman was shot and killed after a standoff with deputies that lasted over three hours.
According ot police, they were called to the home on Silverhill Dr. near Walton Blvd. around 3:05 a.m. A female caller said her husband had assaulted her and she left the resident.
When police showed up, they were able to get into contact with the 28-year-old man. During the conversations, he threatened to kill officers, kill himself and burn down his house.
Officers then heard a gunshot from him.
Police were able to reestablish connection with the man, and he started coming out of the house. When they saw SWEAT was on scene, he went back inside.
The suspect continued threatening to kill himself, kill police and burn down the house.
Shortly after, he walked back outside with a shotgun and charged at an officer, who shot the suspect.
He was taken the the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
When officers checked out the home, they found gas poured throughout the house and gas burners on the stove left open.
