DETROIT (WXYZ) — A 7-year-old girl is in stable condition following a stabbing in the 900 block of Pallister St. in Detroit.
The stabbing happened Saturday around 8:47 p.m.
The child's grandmother told police that while she was in the kitchen, she heard the girl screaming. The child was in another room with an 18-year-old family friend at the time. When the grandmother went to check on the child, she found her injured and the family friend ran from the home on foot, according to a preliminary investigation.
The child was taken to a local hospital and as of Sunday morning is still listed in stable condition.
Detroit police are continuing their investigation. No arrests have been made.
