The Detroit Zoo's Wild Lights event is in the running to be named the Best Zoo Lights as part of USA Today's 10Best Readers' Choice Awards.
The competition runs until 12 p.m. on Dec. 5, and the Detroit Zoo is one of 20 different zoos in contention.
Featuring more than five million LED lights, Wild Lights illuminates buildings, trees and more than 200 animal sculptures on a path through the front half of the zoo.
As of Nov. 11, Wild Lights is in fourth place, behind the Toledo Zoo, Saint Louis Zoo and Indianapolis Zoo.
Other competitors include the Phoenix Zoo, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, Riverbanks Zoo and Lincoln Park Zoo.
