The Humane Society of Midland County reached out for help to return a dog who turned up in Michigan after being displaced from Hurricane Harvey to its owners.
The humane society said Oreo arrived a few days ago as a stray and were shocked to find out that he had a microchip registered to a family in Houston.
"Oreo went missing during Hurricane Harvey and neither we nor his family can figure out how on earth he got to Michigan!" they said in a Facebook post.
The humane society offered to make all arrangements and pay for a flight to Teas in order for Oreo to be returned to his family.
After sending out a plea on Facebook, the humane society has received more than five offers to take him.
