DETROIT, Mich. (WXYZ) — Officers with the Detroit Police Department's 2nd Precinct kept their promise to buy two young sisters new bikes because they had been sharing one bike.
Photos of the officers with the girls were posted on the Detroit Police Department's Facebook page Monday.
Officers from the precinct met the sisters while they were waiting in line to purchase ice cream from a local business. The officers bought the girls ice cream and sat down to chat with them. That's when they found out that the sisters were sharing just one bike.
“It’s the only bike we have,” one sister said.
So the officers made a promise to buy them both new bikes, and on Monday, the officers delivered on that promise.
