EASTPOINTE, Mich. (WXYZ) — There's a list of animals restricted from being kept as pets in Eastpointe – boa constrictors, tigers... and alligators.
According to the Eastpointe Police Department, if it's a pet Tony Montana from the movie "Scarface" would have as a pet, it'll likely be prohibited from the city of Eastpointe.
On Tuesday, the chief animal control officer stood with two alligators that were confiscated by the department and handed over to the Critchlow Alligator Sanctuary in Athens, Michigan.
"Unfortunately, exotic animals are prohibited in Eastpointe so we couldn’t keep them as emotional support animals," the post read.
The officers then thanked the sanctuary for taking the "often misunderstood creatures" off their hands.
