The popular Facebook Live feature is about to get a 360-degree upgrade.

Facebook announced in a blog postthat it’s combining the best of both worlds, the live aspect -- which shows people what’s going on at that very moment, and the 360 view -- which puts people in the middle of the action.

Today, Facebook plans to unveil the feature with the help of National Geographic.

According to the blog, at 3 p.m., National Geographic will debut a Facebook Live 360 video of the Mars Desert Research Facility in Utah.

Seven space scientists have spent the past 80 days in isolation, living in pods meant to simulate being on Mars.

During the stream, Facebook says the scientists will finally be coming out of their pods and showing people around the facility.

Live 360 capabilities will slowly launch for more pages in the next couple of months with a broader roll out in 2017, according to the social media giant.

So, if you have the proper hardware, you could soon be 360-degree live streaming cool views for your friends.
