Ford is expected to make some big announcements today.

The main focus: self-driving cars.

Michigan is just one of three states where these self-driving cars are being tested. Ford is expected to announce the addition of 20 more of those hybrid vehicles to its test fleet.

That means there's a total of 30 different types of self-driving hybrid cars that will now be hitting the streets in Michigan, Arizona and California.

Ford says the vehicles will continued to be tested at the University of Michigan and on public streets in the state.

According to Ford, the addition of these new test cars should help make them available to the general public much sooner.

Also happening today around CES in Las Vegas, Ford and Google are expected to make an official announcement about their partnership--which so far neither company has "officially" confirmed'.

But talk of a Ford and Google partnership has been swirling for weeks and it's all tied to the development of self-driving cars.
