A man who resigned from Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette's team amid allegations that he was driving drunk in Wayne County pleaded guilty to charges in court Tuesday.
A judge accepted Ellis Stafford's plea to the drunk driving charges and sentenced him to 12 months probation. Stafford also has to pay hundreds of dollars in fines and court fees.
Schuette previously released this statement following Stafford's resignation.
"I have accepted the resignation of Ellis Stafford. I thank him for his efforts on the Flint Water Investigation. Ellis and his family are in my thoughts and prayers at this challenging time," Schuette stated.
