Gas prices are n the rise in Michigan, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com. The average retail price of gas in Detroit has risen 4.9 cents per gallon in the last week. The new average is now $1.87/gallon.

According to GasBuddy, the average price is up to $1.92/gallon in Ann Arbor, up 7 cents from last week, and $1.85/gallon in Flint, up 10.6 cents from last week.

Prices are still significantly lower than last year. GasBuddy said prices were 17.2 cents per gallon lower than last year, with the national average down 28.2 cents per gallon.

"As the majority of the United States is still experiencing falling retail gas prices, California and the Great Lakes states are buoying the national average, keeping it from dropping further below $2 per gallon," Will Speer, a Houston-based senior petroleum analyst with GasBuddy said.
