Genesee County health officials offers screenings for National HIV Testing Day

GENESEE COUNTY, Mich. (WXYZ) — National HIV Testing Day is approaching, and Genesee County want to make sure you are HIV free.

Genesee County Health Department is joining Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's "Act Against AIDS" initiative and encouraging everyone to take the #DoingItMyWay pledge to get tested for HIV in 2019.

GCHD will be doing HIV and STI testing at their Sexual Health Clinic, located at G-3373 S. Saginaw St., Burton, Michigan, on June 27 between the hours of 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Everyone who gets tested, gets an opportunity to enter a gift card drawing. The clinic will also have free condoms, education, games, and prizes.

The CDC recommends that everyone between the age of 13 to 64 gets tested for HIV at least once as part of your routine healthcare. Those with specific risk factors should get tested at least once a year.
