(WXYZ) — Gear up for possible Northern Lights this weekend, Michiganders.
According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, a solar storm expected this weekend may induce power grid fluctuations, causing Northern Lights to be visible at high latitudes from northern Michigan to Maine.
Your best chance to catch the ethereal lights will be Saturday. The geomagnetic storm will be at a category G2, allowing for a moderate showing of the lights, according the NOAA.
