10:06 a.m.

Police say the suspect and one woman are dead following a barricaded gunman situation on Detroit's west side.

There were four people in the house when the gunman reportedly came in. Police say the suspect shot his ex-girlfriend three times. She reportedly made it out of the house with an 11-year-old child and was taken to a nearby hospital.

When the special response team made entry they reportedly found the suspect and another woman dead. A 9-day-old child was found alive. 

8:45 a.m.

7 Action News Reporter Jennifer Ann Wilson did a Facebook Live from the scene of a barricaded gunman on Detroit's west side.

According to police, they responded to the home in the 2600 block of Wreford for someone kicking in a door on a house and shots fired.

When officers arrived, the situation turned into a barricaded gunman.

Right now, we know one person has been shot but it's not clear of their condition. Police have no word on evacuations.

Detroit police said the barricaded gunman situation on the city's west side started out as a home invasion.

According to police, they responded to the home in the 2600 block of Wreford for someone kicking in a door on a house and shots fired.

When officers arrived, the situation turned into a barricaded gunman.

Right now, we know one person has been shot but it's not clear of their condition. Police have no word on evacuations.

Detroit police say they are on scene of a barricaded gunman where at least one person was shot and is still inside the house. 

According to police, it's happening in the 2600 block of Wreford, between Linwood and Lawton, near W. Grand Blvd.

Detroit police's special response team is on the way as police can't get inside.
