Tom Morgan says volunteering is a very important part of life and that's why he's been volunteering with Hospice of Michigan for six years.
He signed up after hearing that the nonprofit needed help and hasn't looked back since.
"It's so satisfying and so rewarding," says Morgan.
And now you can join him. Hospice of Michigan is looking for volunteers to play music for their patients, sing to them or simply spend some time with them.
"They have someone to talk to, share their stories with or hold their hand and that's a big part of what we call living," says Alana Knoppow, Hospice of Michigan volunteer program coordinator. "We think of (hospice) as making the most out of a person's life and a big part of that is making sure they're not experiencing isolation, they're not experiencing loneliness."
If you are interested in volunteering, apply here. The deadline is July 8th so you can get trained.
If you miss this July deadline, you can apply in the fall, deadline TBD.
