Constructions woes heading our way, before the big "Revive-275" project begins. Expect to see some back ups on the northbound side of I-275 beginning tonight.

That's because MDOT will start work on the Haggerty Road bridges.

"We don't want traffic driving underneath a bridge while we are working on it, because we don't want debris falling off the bridge and affecting drivers," MDOT spokesperson Diane Cross explained.

As part of the I-275 project, work on the Haggerty Road bridges will require lane closures on freeways below the bridges.

This is what you need to know:

-Northbound I-275 ramp to west I-96 will have ONE LANE CLOSED
-Northbound I-275 ramp to north M-5 will have also ONE LANE CLOSED
-Westbound I-696 RAMP to north M-5 will be CLOSED AND traffic will be detoured
-Eastbound I-96 RAMP to south I-275 will have ONE LANE CLOSED

This will happen every night starting this evening 8 p.m. through 5 a.m. until the beginning of May.

All of this work leads up to the "Revive 275" project.

Earlier this month, we told you trees along the highway were cut down to make space for construction equipment.

The work calls for 275 to shut down between 5 mile and the I-96/I-696/and M-5 interchange.

Next month, the southbound side will shutdown.

After that, the northbound side will close for repairs.

But MDOT officials say the latest closures are necessary before the shutdown.

"Because until we really start working on all three of the Haggerty Road bridges, we are not sure how long it is going to take to do the work," Cross said.  "We really have to get traffic stopped underneath so we can get underneath there, remove plywood and put plywood up, believe or not."

And until this is completed - MDOT cannot announce a start date for the project
