It is with deep sadness that we are sharing the news that Ryan Estrada, a Saline High School Junior, has passed away.

At the end of the school day on Friday, December 9,  Ryan became unresponsive as he prepared for wrestling practice.

Fellow teammates quickly contacted staff who began treatment. EMS arrived at the scene and continued to provide support for Ryan.

He was transported to the University of Michigan Hospital. He was further given medical treatment related to his condition. Following these efforts, Ryan passed away on the afternoon of Saturday, December 10th.

Ryan will be remembered for his humor, his big smile, his love of University of Michigan athletics, and his gregarious personality.

Our hearts and thoughts go out to Ryan’s family, friends and teachers.

The Saline High School Crisis Team will be available to provide support on Monday morning when the students arrive at school.

Please be watchful of your children. We encourage you to reach out to counselors, administrators and teachers if your child needs support in order to help with the grieving process.
