MANITOWOC, Wis. (WXYZ) — A Lake Michigan light tower that was knocked over by a massive wave earlier this year has been found, nearly four months after the wave knocked it over.
According to Fox 11 News in Wisconsin, the coast guard found the tower in about 19 feet of water in Manitowoc Harbor, about 160-feet closer to shore from the original spot.
Photographer Ann Barbeau caught the final wave that took out the South Pier Lighthouse in Manitowoc on Jan. 7, which sits on Lake Michigan southeast of Green Bay.
