LANSING, MI. (WXYZ) — A tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) led to an arrest of a Lansing man.
George Burns, 33, is charged with child sexually abusive activity and using a computer to commit a crime.
The investigation conducted by the Michigan State Police (MSP), Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC) and Lansing Computer Crimes (CCU) led to locating Burns at a shelter in Lansing, seizing many of his internet devices.
Burns, already in custody on unrelated charges, has been charged with four counts of child sexually abusive activity and four counts of using a computer to commit a crime in Clinton County. Burns was arraigned for those charges on June 5, and issued a cash or surety bond of $150,000.
If convicted, Burns faces up to 20 years in prison for child sexually abusive activity and four to 20 years in prison for the counts of using of a computer to commit a crime.
