Lightning hit the roof of a Monroe County home during an early morning storm on Friday and caused a fire.
On Raisinville Road north of the River Raisin, a family’s home in Raisinville Township is now toast after the lightning bolt ignited the fire just before 5 a.m.
Firefighters from several departments were on scene battling the blaze.
Officials say attic insulation fueled the fire. We're told family members who live in the home were not hurt.
