An annual drive for blood donations returned to Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor Sunday.
The University of Michigan hosted "Be a Hero at the Big House," kicking off this year's Blood Battle against Ohio State University.
The annual blood drive pits the archrivals against one other to see who can get the most donations between now and November 26th, when the Wolverines take on the Buckeyes in Columbus, Ohio.
Last year, Ohio State outbled Michigan 2,529 to 2,241 units to retain the Blood Battle trophy for the second straight year.
To help the Wolverines score points with pints this year, donors can schedule an appointment at www.bloodbattle.org.
