One Dundee family says they have a lot to be thankful for after a day out on the water. They were stranded on a kayak in Lake Superior with no relief in sight, until a few good people on a tour boat spotted them.
Brevin Phillips, 16, said he, his sister and mother went kayaking in Munising with tour guides on Wednesday. He said about 10 minutes into it, they knew they were no match for the wind and choppy water.
Pictures of Phillips show him on the kayak moments before he was left stranded 3-4 miles from shore.
After about 45 minutes of panic, he said people on a nearby tour boat spotted him. He was one of eight people in the group who were rescued.
