"He saw me and chased me," says 17-year-old Olivia who says she found herself face to face with an intruder Friday afternoon in her family's Madison Heights home.

It's unclear if the intruder was watching the home from a distance and saw Olivia's mother leave the house, but just about five minutes after she'd left, Olivia heard a loud noise coming from her bedroom.

And just as Olivia was about to walk down the hallway to see what had happened is when she says she saw the masked intruder in her bedroom.

Olivia's father was at work at the time, but says it appears the intruder was able to climb inside through an unlocked window.

Olivia says the intruder began to chase her as she started to run out the back door, grabbing her shirt and ripping it as she fled the house and ran to a neighbor's house where they called her father and police.

When Action News talked to Olivia and her father Saturday, they were waiting for workers from an alarm company to arrive and install a security system including cameras.

Anyone with any information should contact Madison Heights Police.
